Fiji have welcomed back Leicester flyer Vereniki Goneva after a visa issue forced him to miss the Test against France in Marseille.

Goneva is now available for selection against Wales with Ospreys centre Josh Matavesi also returning to the squad to take on some of his regional team-mates.

“Josh Matavesi has rejoined the squad following injury and Vereniki Goneva has also joined the squad,” McKee told The Sport Review.

“Goneva was unable to travel to France last week due to late issue of his visa.”

Fiji were typically entertaining in patches against Les Bleus but in the end suffered a heavy 40-15 defeat.

McKee and his coaches have been reviewing where the squad fell short and know that any mistakes at Test level will be punished.

“We arrived in Cardiff after a long travel from Marseille and woke up to a showery morning, much colder than what we had faced in the South of France,” added McKee.

“At Test match level against Tier One nations, we need to be at our very best in all aspects of the game to be competitive.

“Everything counts at this level of the game and, as we saw last week, good teams take their opportunity when they get it, and will punish mistakes.”
