Solomoni Rasolea admits he had to check with his parents before signing a new two-year deal with the Western Force.

The 23-year-old utility back is originally from Brisbane, and remains close to his family, but has impressed in his time in Perth.

And after gradually establishing himself this season, despite a broken wrist keeping him out for seven games, Rasolea is ready to kick on next year.

“I’m very close to my family in Brisbane, but mum and dad both encouraged me to stay somewhere where I’m really enjoying my rugby,” said Rasolea.

“And they’ve promised to keep visiting.

“I love being part of this team. We’ve got a great bunch of boys here and we know that as long as we’re maintaining our standards and keep chipping away, we’ll be a in a good position to go further in this competition.

“I feel like I’m really starting to find my feet as part of the team at Super Rugby level.

“It doesn’t matter whether I’ve played on the wing, outside (centre) or inside (centre), I’ve definitely grown in knowledge and understanding the game.”

Rasolea is not the only Force player to have re-signed with the club, with Nathan Charles, Dane Haylett-Petty, Rory Walton and Chris Alcock having also agreed to new deals.
