Matadigo, Qovu move to new clubs

Flying Fijians Masi Matadigo and Jone Qovu who both play for Racing Metro are moving to new French clubs who have been promoted recently to the top flight Top 14 competition.

Matadigo has been drafted into the Lyon Olympique Universitaire (LOU) team which clinchéd the tier two Pro D2 competition propelling their place into the Top 14.

Qovu joins the La Rochelle side which is the second team to join the top flight after defeating Agen 31-22 in a playoff last week. La Rochell also has the services of Fijian speedster Sireli Bobo.

Qovu has been playing for the Parisian club since drafted there after his involvement with the Flying Fijians in the 2007 Rugby World Cup while Matadigo played for Racing two seasons.

Another Fijian who has been playing for Racing Virimi Vakatawa has been recruited to the French Sevens squad.
