Warriors lose PRC opener


The Telecom Fiji Warriors’ hopes of opening their Pacific Rugby Cup Title defense on a high were dashed after Reds A defeated them 22 – 19 at Ballymore Stadium Monday night.

The hosts scored four tries to the Warriors three. The Reds A led 5-0 at the breather. In another highlight from Ballymore stadium, could have been a turning point was when the Warriors were flashed a yellow three minutes from full-time. The Reds were not able to nail the three-pointer, the scores remaining 22-19 at full-time.

The Warriors are currently third with a point earned from the close scores. The Reds A had a point going into the game now amass six points from the bonus point victory. The Western Force A still lead with nine points. Junior Japan bring up the tail end in the group A standing. The Fiji Warriors play group leaders Force A on Monday, 10 March at Ballymore.
