Castres have reportedly struck a major blow with the signing of Clermont Auvergne wing Sitiveni Sivivatu on a three-year deal.
The ex-All Black has been a revelation at Clermont alongside fellow wide man Napolioni Nalaga, but according to L’Equipe, the 31-year-old is set to quit the club for the Top14 champions at the end of the season.
Fijian-born Sivivatu won 45 caps for New Zealand, scoring 29 Test tries, and played a leading role in the Kiwis’ demolition of the 2005 British and Irish Lions.
Though Clermont have one of club rugby’s most prestigious backlines – and have secured the services of Wales centre Jonathan Davies for next season – Sivivatu’s departure would likely necessitate the addition of another winger to the squad.
