Another milestone for the Fiji Rugby Union as they signed a five year sponsorship deal with one of Fiji’s largest and most successful automotive enterprises Carpenters Motors on Tuesday.
Carpenters Motors has become the “Official Vehicle Provider” for 2013 – 2017. The value of the sponsorship wasn’t revealed today, but whilst the vehicles that will be supplied are from the Hyundai franchise, this sponsorship will be paid for by Carpenters Motors and not the Hyundai Motor Company.
Representing the Fiji Rugby Union Board, Deputy Chairman Ilaitia Tuisese said that they were very grateful to Carpenters Motors for stepping in and sponsoring the FRU with vehicles during these difficult times.
“I would like to express our sincere appreciation to Carpenters Motors for sponsoring us with vehicles because this will help us spread the good gospel and continue with our development work in the rural areas.”
“As we are heading towards the Olympics and the 7s and 15s Rugby World Cup, thank you for coming on this road with us and for stepping in during these difficult times even though we cannot quantify the support Carpenters Motors has given us. The vehicles will be put to good use for the development of rugby in Fiji.”
Carpenters Motors General Manager Roger Powell said that their partnership with the Fiji Rugby Union would give equal prominence to all their valued franchises, be it Hyundai, Nissan, Isuzu, Honda or UD trucks so that their clients would appreciate that their investments with Carpenters Motors would also be assisting in the development of Fiji’s national sport – Rugby.
“On behalf of Carpenters group we would like to express our gratitude to FRU for allowing us to become their partner for the next five years. Carpenters as you know is one of the strongest automotive brands and we are very happy to be on the road with the FRU as we take this journey together towards the 7s RWC and the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
