  • I would like to wish the boys all the best and for FRU… please forget about Caucau!!

He chose to do drugs knowing that it was not only wrong but a prohibited substance.

FRU should not lower Fiji’s standards to allow the likes of him to be on the Fiji team no matter how brilliant he may be.

On the same note … what’s the news on the allegations that the coach and other officials of the team were also doing alcohol and drugs?

I know that they had admitted drinking – what discipline has been handed out to them?

And on the drugs- have they been tested?

    If not, why not?

Our coach and officials should be above reproach and thus command the respect of the players.

Without this they will have no authority to call on their players to do their best or to follow any rules, guidelines, or standards that are put in place .

If players like Caucau, Ryder etc are disciplined for offences, (and rightly so), then it is even more important that coaches and officials are called into accountability as they are supposed to be the ones to set the example for the players to follow.

So before charging on to the training grounds and into the fitness programmes, please take some time to put these very basic yet vital issues in place or the next 58 days and hundreds of thousands of $’s will be totally wasted.

  • Thanks Beryle,

National coach Ilivasi Tabua has denied using drugs as alleged in the news and we have to give the man the benefit of the doubt. As well I have personally questioned insiders in the team who have vowed they haven’t seen or heard of Tabua using drugs.

Also there has been agreements drawn up by the ruling body, the International Rugby Board, signed by all the Fiji officials that will force them to undergo testing and CEO Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua publicly stated that anyone found positive would be removed from the touring party.

Appreciate the stringent demands, I believe it can only make us better.

  • Vinaka FRB,

Good to get news from someone who has talked with the boys. Theres always “mud” being slung around and when we the public aren’t given straight answers there tends to be much suspicion and mistrust sown in our minds.

Looking forward to seeing our boys in action. Lots of “new blood”, heaps of work to be done in the next few weeks but when our guys put their hearts into it, they can go the whole way.
